Over the past few months or so, I've been reading Waiter Rant, the blog of a waiter in a fairly upscale Tuscan Bistro in New York City.

Now, if you've worked in any service industry for any amount of time, especially food service, you'll get a kick out of this. He gets a little metapsychological at times, but Waiter is a good writer and I like his observations, even if I don't entirely agree with them all the time.

Anywhoo....

There was a recent post on the blog about one of the younger, newer waitresses dealing with... well... sexist middle-aged male jerks. Since Waiter is the Senior Waiter (essentally the matire d'hotel of the seating area), he gave her some advice on how do deal with sexist jerks. It didn't work out entirely as planned, and the comments for that entry have covered the entire spectrum - Everything from "Way to go, Waiter!" to "If I was that waitress, I'd sue the bistro for sexual harrassment."

I don't normally read the comments of his posts, but I scanned most of these. Whoa.

I'll share my thoughts with a couple stories....
