Where Real Life imitates Video Games....
Jul. 9th, 2011 06:35 pmToday was Meatloaf day.
I don't have a set meatloaf receipe. I usually have 3 pounds of meat (I like leftover meatloaf), some sort of grain-based binder, and tomato sauce to cover. Everything else is up in the air.
Today was one pound each of ground beef (80/20), one pound of ground turkey (93/7), and one pound of breakfast-style pork sausage (if you have to ask about fat content for breakfast sausage, you shouldn't be eating it.)
Used about 50/50 Italian-Seasoned bread crumbs and plain bread crumbs, 3 large eggs, about a eighth-cup of Mrs. Dash seasoning. Mixed throughly, shaped the loaf.
Dumped about 8oz of tomato sauce on the bottom of the pan, and another 16 oz over the top. Sprinkled with more Mrs. Dash, and shoved into a 300 degree oven for nearly 2 hours.
Made sure it was cooked through, shut the oven off and left the meatloaf in the oven. I was cooking it early so I wouldn't be running the oven during the hottest part of the day.
So, at dinnertime, after whipping up some Mac-N-Cheese for a side dish (mostly for Roomie, but I did have a spoonful with my dinner), I sliced up the loaf.
And... it reminded me of something...

ClikkyPiccy to see it in all it's glory.
Then it occured to me. I logged on to World Of Warcraft and ran over to the Eastern Plaguelands and got a quick screen-cap...

ClikkyPiccy to see it in all of it's ewwwwwwwww.
I had Slugloaf for dinner! And I wasn't even trying to!
